At Play
In my artistic practice, I investigate themes of art, design, and play. My role as a mother and my background in architecture and design influence this practice. Geometric form, color, and grid structure are foundational ideas for my work. My art incorporates paper and upcycled packaging into mixed-media abstract collages. I harness play and fun in all of my creative pursuits.
I began making art in 2022 after observing my three-year-old son play with toy blocks and, subsequently learning about the history of kindergarten and its influence on modern art and design of the 20th century.

Studies of Froebel's Gifts 3, 4 and 5B
“Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child's soul.”
–Friedrich Froebel
